Nova Poshta across Ukraine, 1–3 working days
The first vintage of the COVID years. A time when humanity awoke to a new world. When we all tried to understand whether it was the end of globalization or its reboot on a new level. When we felt sharply both our belonging to the collective and our separation. When we re-evaluated the meaning of the analog world: the warmth of a handshake, the taste of wine shared with a friend.
A wine of an unconventional season, from an organic vineyard. A harmonious blend of three powerful grape varieties from different countries: Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi, and Feteasca Neagră.
The powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, born in Bordeaux but now cultivated worldwide. The Georgian autochthonous Saperavi—one of the oldest varieties, which has survived more than one global catastrophe. The historical Moldovan variety Feteasca Neagră, which, after a period of undeserved neglect, is experiencing its Renaissance.
Due to a prolonged drought, a green harvest was carried out, reducing yields to 4 tons per hectare. This small harvest gave an exceptional concentration of aromas, flavors, and complexity.
The grapes of each variety, after a 4-day cold maceration, were fermented separately in neutral vessels and aged in Caucasian oak for 18 months.
The result is a beautifully balanced full-bodied wine with a rich bouquet of black and red berries, a velvety texture from ripe tannins, and a long finish with notes of spices, coffee, and dark chocolate.
The color is deep ruby with a garnet hue.
The aroma of blackcurrant, ripe red cherry, and wild blackberry is perfectly complemented by notes of white pepper, clove, and black vanilla.
The wine is complex and multi-layered. Refreshing acidity is well balanced with ripe berry flavors, with tones of candied cherry, juicy black plum, cornelian cherry, and pomegranate.
Aging potential: at least 15 years.
